Membership

Full Member:


Membership Requirements: 

  • To be a Lebanese citizen.
     
  • To have a minimum of academic eligibility which is a Master's degree in a mental health field  (Psychology, Counseling, or Psychiatry).
     
  • To have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a therapist after receiving the Master's degree. 
     
  • To have completed the Basic EMDR Training Course, and received a “Certificate of Completion”.
     
  • To accept the rules and regulations of the association and work to achieve its goals.
     
  • Must have his/her civil rights and not be convicted of any offense or crime.


Membership Benefits:

  • Become well informed, supported, and accompanied while following the required steps to become a Certified EMDR Therapist or an Approved EMDR Consultant.
     
  • Get a reduced fee to EMDR workshops and training.
     
  • Be listed on the “Find a Therapist” section on the website of EMDR Lebanon Association after the approval of the Standards Committee.
     
  • Get a reduced membership fee to EMDRIA (optional).
     
  • Get access to the resources present in the private area section on this website.
  • Get information updates on new developments in EMDR therapy.
     
  • Take part in the advancement of spreading awareness of EMDR therapy to the community.

Associate Member:


Membership Requirements:

  • To be a Lebanese citizen.

  • To have completed level 1 of the Basic EMDR Training Course, that is Part 1 and Group Supervision 1.
     
  • To accept the rules and regulations of the association and work to achieve its goals.
     
  • Must have his/her civil rights and not be convicted of any offense or crime.

 

Membership Benefits:

  • Get a reduced fee to EMDR workshops and training that does not require a “Certificate of Completion”.
     
  • Get access to the resources present in the private area section on this website.
  • Get information updates on new developments in EMDR therapy.
     
  • Take part in the advancement of spreading awareness of EMDR therapy to the community.

N.B. As soon as the associate member finishes Level 2 of the Basic EMDR  Training Course (Part 2 + Group Supervision 2) and receives his/her  “Certificate of Completion”, he/she will automatically become Full  Members.

How to Apply to Become a Member?


If a practitioner wishes to become a member in EMDR Lebanon Association, he/she needs to send the following:

  1. Fill the membership application (Membership Application).
     
  2. Curriculum Vitae CV.
     
  3. A photocopy or a scan of ID.
     
  4. A photocopy or scan of the highest university degree.
     
  5. A photocopy or scan of the license from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health to practice as a clinical or educational psychologist or a psychiatrist.
     
  6. A letter of reference or recommendation that proves that he/she has a minimum of 2 years of experience in therapy after the Master's degree.
     
  7. A photocopy or scan of the “Certificate of Completion” of the Basic EMDR Training Course.

All these documents are required to be sent to info@emdrlebanon.org. The Standards Committee will study the application and will send a recommendation to the Administrative Board who will take the decision after 2 weeks.


Membership Fees:

The EMDR Lebanon Association membership fee is 150 US dollars. The yearly cycle of the membership is from the 1st of April to the 31st of March of the next year.
